ATTENTION PARENTS

Pre-planning for the faculty will be August 12-August 17. This is a limited time for us to plan.together and accomplish tasks necessary for the first days of school. Open House, August 16th at 6:00 pm, is the scheduled time for visiting with teachers. Faculty and teachers need uninterrupted time to work on these pre-planning days. Thanks in advance for abiding by this request. 

 

IMPORTANT PACKET

Each student, including high school students, will receive an important packet either at
Open House or the first day of school to be thoroughly read and completed by the
PARENT. Please read this information carefully. Many questions arise during the school
year that can easily be answered by reading over the attendance protocol and dress code
policies which are included in this packet. The forms to be completed are permanent
record information. Please do not let your student complete these forms.


REMINDERS FORA SUCCESSFUL 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!!


CLASS SCHED ULES     6*h

The following is the schedule pick up times for 6th through 12th grades on Monday, August 16th.

6th, 7th & 8th     9:00-11:00 am 9th & 10th.         1:30-- 2:30 pm 11th & 12th        2:30-3:30 pm All schedules will also be available for pick­up during Open House at 6:00 at Leebern Hall.

OPENHOUSE

Parents are encouraged to attend TA's Open House on August 16th. Please be seated by 6:00 pm in the home bleachers at the football field. You will be dismissed after the meeting with Mr. Drummonds to visit your child's classroom. Room assignments for students in K4 through 5th grade will be posted that evening. In case of bad weather, go directly to your child's building.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Cell phones and electronic equipment are not allowed on the TA campus during school hours. The use of cell phones and such during school hours will result in the device being confiscated on the first offense and returned to a parent or student at the end of  the school year with a fine of $100.00. The student will also be required to serve Saturday detention with a fee of $20.00 being assessed.

TARDIES - TARDIES - TARDIES Students need to be on time and in their classrooms no later than 8:10 am. Lunch count, attendance, devotionals, etc., are first thing each morning. Tardiness interrupts this process. Students must come to the office to sign in and receive a tardy slip before being admitted into their classrooms. If the student is in K4-5*11 grades, a parent must come in the office with the student for sign-in. Beginning Monday, August 23rd, Student Drivers who are tardy will serve next day after-school detention - no exceptions!! Parents must send a written note or students must have a doctor's note to receive an excused tardy for a medical appointment. In order to be counted present for the day, a student must check in by 12:00 noon and not check out before 12:00 noon.

ENTRANCES & EXITS .

Be aware of the one-way and exit only signs. They are present for the safety of you and your student.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

The State of Georgia's Attendance Policy will be sent home for each family to read with a signature page to be signed and returned to your child's homeroom teacher.

EMAIL ADDRESSES

TA office staff like to stay in touch with parents through the use of email. If you have an email address change notify Barbara Bryan at bbryan(S tiftarea.org.

LOCKERS

Lockers for high school and middle school students will be available for rent during homeroom on Thursday, August 19th. Rental Fees: $10.00

BOOK SOX

Book Sox (jumbo size) will be on sale during Open House and the first week of school for $3.00. We encourage you to purchase the Book Sox at TA. The jumbo book covers at Walmart, Target, Staples, etc are too small and damage our textbooks.

HARVEYS REWARDS

Don't forget to register your Harvey's Supermarket Rewards Card again this year. www.harvevs-superniarkets.com is the website. Click on Education Rewards on the left of the screen then on Hometown Educational Rewards. Follow the simple instructions. If you need help, call Audrey McClain in the office at 382-0436. We accumulated 248,131 points last year and were able to order many new teaching tools!

FIELD TRIP CONSENT FORMS

All students will receive a Parental Field Trip Consent Form in the back-to-school packet. It is mandatory that we have a signed consent form on file for each student. This form will allow your student to participate in all field trips, practices off campus, etc., however, you will receive information giving you the details concerning the trips prior to participation. 
 

SCHOOL HOURS

School will begin this year with a warning bell at 8:05. The tardy bell for homeroom will ring at 8:10. Students will load buses at 3:15 and car riders will dismiss at 3:20 and car drivers will dismiss at 3:25.

 

TUITION & BUS PAYMENTS

In order for TA to operate in the black, we MUST receive payments on time. Monthly tuition is due on the first day of each month June-May. Bus fees will be added in September if applicable. Quarterly tuition is due Oct. ist, Feb. 1st, and May 1st. Semi­annual payments are due Dec. 1st. Finance changes will be added after the ioth of each month on past due accounts. Please put your child's name and grade on your check.

 

CHECK-OUTS

If your student is checking out early, send a note to the teacher (^4-5^ or the office (6th-12th grades). Students must be checked out through the office. Students are not allowed to text parents and have parents call the office to check them out. The phone in the office is available to students in case of sickness.

VISITORS

All parents and visitors must sign in at the front office and receive a name tag and code to enter the building. All doors remain locked, and we appreciate your cooperation to ensure everyone's safety.

Mr. Drummonds, Mrs. Womack, Dr. Creamer and all faculty are looking forward to a wonderjul 2010-2.011 school year. Let's make this the best
